The Munich Shooter Is Driving the Mainstream Media Nuts

From The American Thinker Blog:
Ali David Sonboly, the young man who shot up Munich last week, killing 9 mostly young people and wounding dozens of others, is driving the mainstream media nuts. It’s so bad, they can’t even decide what they want to call him. Is it Ali David Sonboly, or David Ali Sonboy, or just David Sonboy, as the primly and properly PC BBC tried to have it?

But now it’s really getting confusing. As this article from the Mirror, among many others, now reports, Sonboly “reportedly saw it as an ‘honour’ that he had the same birthday as the Nazi leader [Hitler] - April 20,” “was proud to be a German-Iranian ‘Aryan,’” and “felt ‘superior’ to those of either [Turk or Arab] origin.” These discoveries greatly aggravate the already severe disorientation that the MSM has suffered over his motives. It seems that some among them think Sonboly was a neo-Nazi Irano-Aryan acolyte of Breivik – anything, please, but a Muslim.

So, was this young man just a “lazy” and “chubby” misfit who moved from depression to derangement and then obsession with mass murder for fascist reasons, or was he acting out of some influence of radical Islam? Or aren’t both possible?
Face it, the Drive-By Media is in denial.

Attacker in Nice plotted for months with ‘accomplices,’ prosecutor says.

From CNN via H/T at Instapundit:
Lone Wolf:
[Paris prosecutor Francois] Molins said authorities are investigating five suspects who are in custody on terror charges related to the attack that Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel carried out on Bastille Day, France’s main national holiday.

One suspect allegedly sent Bouhlel a Facebook message saying, “Load the truck with tons of iron and cut the brakes. I’ll look brother.”

Bouhlel, 31, drove a 20-ton truck through hundreds who had gathered to watch the Bastille Day fireworks on the Mediterranean city’s waterfront.

An analysis of cell phone and computer content — including a photo of last year’s Bastille Day fireworks event focused on the crowd — showed Bouhlel had been planning the assault since at least 2015, Moins said.
We may never know what really motivated them.
Progressives can't let the facts get in the way of the narrative.

Terror -- Truck Crashes into Crowd Celebrating Bastille Day, At Least 80 Dead

From Breitbart:
At least 80 people , including 10 children, have died and dozens were injured during Bastille Day celebrations in Nice, France after a truck ran into a large crowd.

Police are treating the incident as “an attack” and French President François Hollande declared it an “undeniable” terrorist attack.

The suspect has been named locally as a 31-year-old French-Tunisian called Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel. Witnesses claim he shouted “Allahu Akbar” – which means God is greatest in Arabic – before opening fire on officers.
Shock, another muslim responsible for another act of terrorism.

Oh, so European-style gun control didn’t stop these extremists from storing rifles near this German mosque, huh?

From Hotair:
So, yeah—Germany has probably what American liberals would want to institute here if they could, and Islamic radicals were able to obtain mass quantities of firearms. That’s not to say we should do nothing, but when it comes to fighting terrorism—maybe divert monetary and political resources to intelligence services and law enforcement, rather than disarming law-abiding Americans.
But then the people who support that idea are bigots.

Lynch -- Best Response to Terrorism Is Love and Compassion

From The Washington Free Beacon:
Attorney General Loretta Lynch said that love and compassion are the best responses to terrorism during remarks to the media in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday.
Pure idiocy!

The Senate should have never confirmed this moron.

Mass shooting and hostage taking at Orlando gay nightclub appears to be Islamic terrorism

From Thomas Lifson at The American Thinker Blog:
Update: The attacker has been identified as Omar Mateen, a US-born citizen whose parents came to the US from Afghanistan. The Daily Beast:
Omar Mateen of Port Saint Luice, Florida has been identified as the gunman who killed 20 people at a Orlando nightclub, CBS News, the Washington Post, and NBC News report, citing law enforcement officials. Mateen is a U.S. citizen; his parents are from Afghanistan, CBS News reports. FBI Agent Ron Hopper told reporters Mateen may have leanings towards Islamic extremism.
If the early indications of Islamic terror being the motivation for a mass slaughter of homosexuals prove to be true, jihad should become a top concern of the LGBT political movement. The evidence is quickly mounting that Islamic terror was at the root of shooting 20 dead (as far as is currently known) and wounding 42 others, as well as taking hostages.
Let's see if this shooting meets the radical jihadi checklist.

1.) Shooter - Muslim - Check

2.) Target - Gay night club - check

3.) weapons - rifles, pistol, and IED - Check

4.) casualties - massive - check

So, the answer is yes!

Terror in Orlando -- Approximately 50+ dead, 50+ More Wounded at Gay Nightclub

From CNN via H/T at Ace of Spades HQ:
In case you're just waking up, there was an attack on an Orlando gay night club early this morning:
He has been identified as Omar Saddiqui Mateen, 29, of Fort Pierce, about 120 miles southeast of Orlando, two law enforcement officials tell CNN. Orlando authorities said they consider the violence an act of domestic terror. The FBI is involved. While investigators are exploring all angles, they "have suggestions the individual has leanings towards (Islamic terrorism), but right now we can't say definitely," said Ron Hopper, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI's Orlando bureau.
Reports are still somewhat confused, but what is not in doubt is that innocent Americans who were doing nothing more provocative than partying inside a club have been murdered. Please respect that tragic fact and pray for the victims and their loved ones.
So how will President 4putt react to this?

Taxes, not Terrorism, can get your Passport Revoked

From The American Thinker Blog:
It is an interesting commentary on our priorities that the IRS now has the authority to revoke the passports of Americans who are in arrears by more than $50,000, but Americans travelling overseas to fight with ISIS can return safely home with passports in hand.
........................

Putting pressure on scofflaws to pay up is nice, but these days we are more concerned about terrorists than tax evaders -- using the passport revocation in the war on terror has met with resistance from Democrats and the Obama administration.
So blocking tax scofflaws is more important to this Regime than stopping terrorist.

Figures!

Dave Barry’s 2015 Year in Review

From the Miami Herald:
Was 2015 the worst year ever? Yes, yes it was.

Sometimes we are accused — believe it or not — of being overly negative in our annual Year in Review. Critics say we ignore the many positive events in a given year and focus instead on the stupid, the tragic, the evil, the disgusting, the Kardashians.

OK, critics: We have heard you. This year, instead of dwelling on the negatives, we’re going to start our annual review with a List of the Top 10 Good Things That Happened in 2015. Ready? Here we go:

1. We didn’t hear that much about Honey Boo Boo.

2.

OK, we’ll have to get back to you on Good Things 2 through 10. We apologize, but 2015 had so many negatives that we’re having trouble seeing the positives. It’s like we’re on the Titanic, and it’s tilting at an 85-degree angle with its propellers way up in the air, and we’re dangling over the cold Atlantic trying to tell ourselves: “At least there’s no waiting for the shuffleboard courts!”

Are we saying that 2015 was the worst year ever? Are we saying it was worse than, for example, 1347, the year when the Bubonic Plague killed a large part of humanity?

Yes, we are saying that. Because at least the remainder of humanity was not exposed to a solid week in which the news media focused intensively on the question of whether a leading candidate for president of the United States had, or had not, made an explicit reference to a prominent female TV journalist’s biological lady cycle.
Always an entertaining read. I love how much he slams on the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick, and Tom Brady.

In Oval Office speech, Obama offers the same policies that have allowed ISIS to grow

From Thomas Lifson at The American Thinker Blog:
President Obama served up nothingburgers to the nation in a Sunday evening address from the Oval Office. The only people who would be reassured by what he had to say are those who share the president’s evident belief that saying words like “relentlessly pursue” will magically change the real world.

As far as strategy to destroy ISIS, there was nothing new.
................

The president, as I predicted, tripled down on gun control, an excellent distraction to channel public discussion toward a contentious issue and away from his failures.
He obviously believes it's NOT hispolices that are the problem.

White House refuses to call California shooting ‘terrorism’

From The New York Post via H/T at Lucienne:
The FBI called it a terror investigation and sources revealed that the female shooter in the California bloodbath pledged her loyalty to ISIS — but the Obama administration was still hesitating Friday to declare that the massacre was terrorism.

“It’s far too early to reach that kind of conclusion. We’re still learning exactly what was motivating these individuals, what steps they took to carry out this terrible crime,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters.

“Before we make any grand pronouncements along those lines, it’s important for our investigators to find out what happened.”

Obama initially downplayed terrorism as a motive for Wednesday’s attack in San Bernardino, Calif., instead issuing another call for tougher gun-control laws.

But faced with mounting evidence that the killers, Syed Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 27, had been radicalized, FBI Director James Comey announced Friday that a terrorism investigation was underway.
When it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, this Regime will call it a dolphin.

Friday, December 4, 2015

Um, why, exactly?

From Instapundit:
These are the same Federal Agencies that clear the female San Bernadino Shooter, right?

Connecting the dots in the San Bernardino bloodshed

From The New York Post via H/T at Lucienne:
It may be some time before the full story is known. But the dots are already beginning to form a picture, one some folks — including at the White House — might prefer not to admit.

Indeed, the San Bernardino carnage already serves as a chilling reminder of the homegrown terror threat this country continues to face.

And until we come to grips with that fact, we’ll never be able to defeat it.
These dots represent a serious problem for the Regime. They can't maintain their narrative that ISIS is under control.

The reality is that San Bernardino was the first ISIS sponsored terrorist attack on US soil.

So much for that "JV team".

The Left’s Cynical Gun-Control Reflex

From Charles C. W. Cooke of the National Review:
Before we knew a single thing about the perpetrators of the abomination in San Bernardino, solutions were being thrown across the Internet with abandon. The answers to this latest problem were obvious: Americans just needed to “stand up to the NRA”; to agree to “common sense” firearms legislation; and to implement the trio of gun-control “reforms” that President Obama so dearly covets. Those who offered prayers in lieu of knee-jerk calls for authority were deemed to be callous or cynical or dumb. Never mind that none of the details were known. Never mind that we had no motive, no weapon, no suspects. Never mind that, California being what it is, it was eminently possible that all of the proposals under discussion were already in the law. This was a golden propaganda opportunity, not to be passed up.
...........................

When, a few short hours later, it became clear that this one was a little different from the usual trenchcoat-and-schizophrenia disgrace, circumspection should have set in. Alas, it did not. As the events unfolded, we learned, among other things, that there was more than one shooter, which tends to suggest terrorism; that those involved were devout Muslims, one of whom had recently been on a pilgrimage to Mecca; that there was a suspected link to ISIS propaganda; that the onslaught involved home-made, remote-controlled explosives, potentially put together in a house described as an “IED factory”; that the guns used in the attack were purchased legally, with a background check; and that because California has strict rules governing firearms, both the buyer and seller were subject to the very restrictions the president claims to covet. Oddly, none of these details mattered one whit.
Sorry Bloomberg et al, California has ALL the "common sense legislation" you want nationally and guess what, those laws did not stop the terrorists.

UC Merced stabber planned to behead people while praising Allah

From The American Thinker Blog:
Faisal Mohammed stabbed four people on the campus of University of California at Merced last week. As in other cases of Islamic terror attacks against Americans, the rush to absolve the jihadist of any connection to Islam was swift. Never has law enforcement so consistently and so quickly determined motive, or lack thereof, as when terror strikes Americans. And so it was the case with Faisal’s attack.

Fox News reports new details that confirm that this kid was a jihadist, not a crazy teenager with a grudge:
A handwritten manifesto carried by a California college student whose stabbing spree Wednesday left four wounded bore names of his targets, a vow “to cut someone’s head off” and as many as five reminders to “praise Allah,” law enforcement authorities told FoxNews.com, while insisting that neither terrorism nor religion appear to be motives in the attack.

In the two-page document found in Faisal Mohammad’s pocket by the county coroner, the 18-year-old freshman wrote a numeric list outlining his plans of who he wanted to kill, and how, including beheading and shooting his victims, Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke told FoxNews.com
Other than the Drive-By Media and the local sheriff, is anyone really surprised an 18 year old muslim, who randomly attacks a bunch of students, is anything other THAN a jihadist?

Top 10 universities most friendly to terror

From The American Thinker:
University campuses are dangerous places for our children, as “higher education” has morphed into a propaganda machine for leftists. And with the left comes the stifling of free speech. And violence. As in jihad.

Muslim students and Islamophile faculty members are creating an increasingly threatening environment as brainwashing, intimidation, and physical violence become the norm. Life for Jewish students has become particularly harrowing, though the threat extends well beyond them to every American.

To address this growing threat, David Horowitz has started a campaign called “Stop the Jihad on Campus.” He has released a report on the top 10 American universities that provide legitimization and material support to Islamic terrorists who want to destroy the state of Israel, with Muslim Brotherhood front groups (Muslim Students Association and Students for Justice in Palestine) being deeply embedded on university campuses advancing a message of hate.
.........................

These people with their hate-ridden views are embraced by universities across America, with the following 10 universities (listed alphabetically) being the worst offenders:

  • Brandeis University
  • Harvard University
  • Rutgers University, New Brunswick
  • San Francisco State University
  • University of California, Irvine
  • University of California, Los Angeles
  • University of California, San Diego
  • University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
  • University of New Mexico
  • Why am I not surprised that 4 of the top 10 are in California, including my alma matter.
