Buy Ammo

From Kurt Schlichter at Townhall:
I have never, ever had anyone tell me that he had too much ammunition. Not in a combat zone, not in a civil disaster, not even in peacetime. Never. Nor have I lived through a time where our governing class was so deeply corrupt, so utterly foolish, and so dangerously focused on the perpetuation of its own power that it risked bringing down everything we have built not merely in the United States but in the entire West.

Right now, if you are watching the news, you have questions about the future. And the answer to all of them is to buy ammo.

Buying ammo is a no-lose proposition. Look, the worst thing that happens if you buy more ammo is that you have more ammo. Plus, much of our consumer ammo is made by hardworking Americans, and many of those ammo makers are located in red states where the right to keep and bear arms is celebrated and respected. So you’re helping fellow conservative Americans, which is good. And you’re infuriating people like that sanctimonious, Second Amendment-hating incompetent infesting the White House, which is great.
Basically, follow the Boy Scout motto, "Be Prepared." But why you may ask?
Do you think the Iranians and our other enemies haven’t been watching Team Feckless in inaction and thought about popping off a hot rock or two a hundred miles above Kansas City to fry all our wonderful electronic gizmos with EMP? A couple days after our logistics networks go down those urban hipsters are going to learn what really constitutes a “food desert.”
Because we have a fool as our elected leader.

Trump Is Going To Break Your Heart

From Kurt Schlichter at Townhall:
As a young man, I learned that sometimes that hot chick you're dating is also completely crazy and, as much fun as it is to go out with her, it's going to end badly. That's Donald Trump, the super hottie of the "I Hate the GOP Establishment with a Burning Passion That Has Rendered Me Insusceptible to Reason" crew. He's sexy, he likes to party, and he certainly puts out – in the sense that he fulfills your fantasies about giving it to the RINOs good and hard.

That intensely troubling metaphor aside, the point is still valid. Donald Trump is not a keeper, not the one you want to marry. He’s never going to make you happy. For now, he's going to say what makes you happy, and for now he's going to make a lot of the right people go nuts, but if you get hitched he’ll cheat on you with the liberals. At the end of the day, you’ll walk out of the courtroom wearing a barrel while Trump and the pool boy jet off to Tahiti on your dime.

Figuratively.

I get the attraction. He ticks off Barack Obama, he outrages Hillary Clinton, and he gives Jeb Bush conniptions. This is all fine and good. He often says the stuff you’re not supposed to say but that most normal people think. Sometimes he says stuff no sane person thinks. He’s fun at parties, except that after he has a few and puts the lampshade on his head he stops being amusing and starts picking fights with your friends.
All valid points. But here is the scariest point...
Trump doesn't want to make America great. He doesn’t want to make you great. He wants to make you tell him that he's great. He doesn't love you, any more than the stripper in the Champagne Room loves you when you’ve still got money in your wallet.

Sure, that's another deeply disturbing image, but not as deeply disturbing as the image of Donald Trump taking his ego trip on the road in a third-party or otherwise ensuring the election of Hillary Clinton. Just like a gold-digging tramp might leave you with a little something that all the antibiotics in the world can't cure, Donald Trump may leave you with Hillary Clinton, and that means the end of everything you say you stand for.
That thought gives me heart palpitations.

The Tide Is Turning Against Democrats in the Debate Over Gun Control

From Kurt Schlichter at IJReview:
In fact, it complicated the narrative so much that even Obama had to rouse himself from his listless stupor and go on TV and speak. You could see how much he hated having to take time away from his enfascistment program to talk to us yokels about defending our country. How bad do you think the Democrat agenda of cowering, cowardice, and confiscation has got to be polling to get him off the links and doing his job?

Anecdotes mean nothing, until they start meaning everything.

Exhibit A: A beauty shop in the ritzy South Bay of Los Angeles. The hairdresser spontaneously launches into a tirade about Obama and how people in gun free zones are sitting ducks for Islamist freaks.

A hairdresser. In Los Angeles.

Exhibit B: A Headline News studio audience in Hollywood. A black man is handed the microphone and says he agrees with the one gun freedom activist on the panel. A young woman stands up and asks why she should be left defenseless in the face of terrorists.

Minorities and Millennials. In Hollywood.

Exhibit C: Thousands of store shelves across America, stripped of ammunition.

Exhibit D: The instant background check system last weekend, not so very instant as demand overwhelmed it.

Exhibit E: Twitter swamped with screenshots of NRA membership confirmation emails.

Exhibit F: Hillary Clinton shutting up about the pseudo-threat of guns in the hands of normal Americans and proceeding to channel Julius Caesar about killing terrorists.

This is what it looks like when the tide is turning.

Obama’s lies didn’t help. You could see the FBI agents biting their lips, clearly under orders not to leap to any conclusions about the mysterious, unknowable motivation that propelled the Muslim, Allah-shouting, bomb-making, kid-dumping, ISIS-worshipping killers. Everyone saw that the fools masquerading as our leaders were twisting themselves into yogi-like contortions not to acknowledge what everyone knows – what even the murderers themselves were proud to admit. Because to say it, to acknowledge the truth, would force Obama and his liberal pals to take their focus off fundamentally transforming America via climate change conferences and onto protecting it from the kind of Third World radical freaks these multi-culti jerks slobber over.

Progressives hate taking our side in a fight because they believe at some foundational level that the slaughter these Seventh Century cretins have brought to our shores is well-deserved, the natural consequence of our selfish refusal to submit to the elite’s agenda of craven appeasement and collective guilt.
But will they vote for someone who will actually do something about the problem?

What Defeating ISIS Would Look Like

From Kurt Schlichter at IJReview:
Here, at night in the heart of the caliphate, the only sound was the laughing of the ISIS fighters lounging about in the safety of their capital. The screams that had pierced the air when the jihadis had captured the Syrian city of Raqqa on the northern bank of the Euphrates were gone; those infidels who had not been butchered had fled.

But there was a rumble in the sky, but not like from one of the few American jets that would occasionally drop a bomb and then depart. No, this was deeper and more distant. The jihadis stopped talking to listen, puzzled. Then they and their world were torn apart.

The first wave of 12 B-52H’s emptied their bays of 750-pound dumb bombs directly over the heart of Raqqa, followed by a second wave, then a third. Crack Air Force ground crews were waiting back at the base in Saudi Arabia, and rearmament took less than two hours. Then they headed north again. In 24 hours, Raqqa ceased to exist.
This article game me goosebumps!

Liberals Are ‘Gunlighting’ When They Say They Don’t Want Your Guns.

From Kurt Schlichter at The Journal at IJReview via H/T at Instapundit:
You’re not crazy for thinking that everything liberals say about guns is a lie. You’re not crazy when you see Obama and Hillary say they support the Second Amendment out of one side of their mouths and that they support the Australian option out of the other. This talk of Australia is code, a dog whistle that signals to their core followers their long-term goal, that pokes at us free Americans in the hopes we overreact, and that sails over the heads of many Americans who aren’t paying attention yet. You know no mainstream media hack will ever call them on it, so it’s up to us.
Kurt really boils it down in the most straightforward and simple terms. He continues:
The gunlighting phenomenon is nothing new. Obama was always for gay marriage, but he flat out lied about it until it was a done deal. Go ask your new doctor if Obama lied about Obamacare. Ask a crucified Syrian or Iraqi Christian how good Obama’s word is.

You’re not crazy for feeling that you are being bombarded by lies. This is just more liberal taqiya, the notion that it’s perfectly fine to lie to normal Americans about liberal goals in order to enslave them. Only this time, Americans aren’t crazy enough to fall for it.

Why I Will Vote For Donald Trump (Just Not In the Primary)

From Kurt Schlichter at The Journal at IJReview
Well, I am voting for Donald Trump. Oh, not by choice, and not in the primaries if there’s any option other than the likes of Jeb Bush or John Kasich or Lindsey Graham, the sailor-suited Little Lord Fauntleroy of the GOP. None of them are conservatives, but Trump does not even pretend to be one so he won’t take conservatism’s reputation down with him. Bottom Line: If Donald Trump is the GOP nominee and running against that withered fascist Hillary Clinton, I’m all in for The Donald.

Now, please kill me.
Well said.

Can Any Republican Defeat Ancient Socialist Crone Hillary Clinton?

From Kurt Schlichter at Townhall via H/T at Instapundit:
It’s pretty clear that Hillary is going to be the nominee of the Party of Elderly Socialist White People. Bernie Sanders isn’t serious about taking her out and taking the lead – he’s only interested in yelling at rich people and telling them to get the hell off their own lawns.

Biden may or may not run, but the Democrat elite heaved a huge sigh of relief when Hillary didn’t whiff any of the softballs at the debate and stood towering over the midgets. That the likes of Lincoln Chaffee failed to show her up was probably enough to quell the growing unease that this empty pantsuit, whose greatest achievement is enduring the decades of humiliation heaped upon her by her satyr husband, can’t pull it off. It leaves little opportunity for the Warm Bucket of Spit from Delaware to stumble in and save the day. The Dems are nominating Hillary and whoever the focus groups pick as her vice-president.
If the GOP loses to Hillary, there should be a party coup or a third Conservative Party formed.

Filibusted

From Kurt Schlichter at Townhall:
Obama uses the filibuster, with the aid of his Senate minority minions, as a way to prevent accountability. By refusing to allow a vote on any issue Obama disapproves of, the Democrats are able to leverage the slobbering assistance of their mainstream media friends into placing the blame for a “dysfunctional” Congress onto the GOP despite the fact that the only people preventing the Congress from passing anything are the Democrats. Obama never has to take a real stand. He never has to veto popular legislation. He never has to explain why he is refusing to sign a bill, or why he is shutting down the government.

Instead, you GOP sad-sacks find yourselves selling out the people who sent you to Washington time and time again because Obama can use the filibuster to ensure that the blame for everything lands squarely on you. And you just take it. It’s like an abusive relationship. “Gee, maybe if I was nicer to him he’d let me govern,” you whimper just before he pushes another half-grapefruit in your collective faces.
During the first two year of the Dear Leader's Regime, Harry Reid and the Dims controlled both houses of Congress. Then in 2010, Reid changed the rules to stack the DC appeals Court. Reid set a precedent. Follow it and make him regret his decision.
What’s worse is that we all know that the filibuster is a dead tradition walking. The Democrats aren’t going to be so fussy next time they get a majority. They are going to kill it dead the second it becomes useful to do so and not pause to mourn. You GOP weasels are simply setting yourselves up for a royal shafting when your enemies choose the time and place to drive a stake through its flailing heart.
Take advantage of the majority and make Obama answer why he want to fund Planned Parenthood to the tune of $500,0000,000 and still chop up babies, for parts, like they are cars.

Why Our Commanders Look The Other Way During Child Rape

From Kurt Schlichter at The Federalist via H/T at Ace of Spades HQ:
Without a doubt, the commander in Afghanistan could evaluate the situation, determine that we are not going to tolerate the rape of children, and instruct our troops to fire two warning shots into the sternum of anyone found doing so.
..................

Alternatively, the American commander in Afghanistan could decide that our need for allies outweighs the need to prevent child rape, and clearly announce that our forces will do nothing to stop it when they see it. Sometimes, you need to accept the cultural mores of useful local forces, as deplorable as they are, and as soldiers you are expected to be disciplined enough to do so. Of course, that would raise certain uncomfortable questions back home, such as, “Mr. President, why the hell are your generals telling our troops to look the other way when they see a man anally raping a little boy?”

So, faced with these two options, the craven generals selected the worst possible option, and failed to give clear guidance one way or the other. Instead of taking on the responsibility that comes with the job, they punted. They chose not to give clear orders—“See it and stop it” or “See it but do nothing”—putting the risk they should bear as commanders onto their subordinates. Now, soldiers have to decide whether to do what is right or do what their generals telegraph they want done but won’t say because they don’t want to be held accountable for it.
..................

So, if the captain acts according to Army values and puts a stop to the child rape, he’s wrong. If he does nothing, and later some congressman or reporter asks the general why his troops aren’t stopping child rapes, the captain is going to be wrong again. If you think the general is going to say, “Oh, the captain as just following my order to allow child rapes occurring in front of him to continue,” you are delusional.
Schlichter calls it a moral crisis in the Military. It's not, it's cowardice under the cover of political expediency.
Obama bears some of the blame because he could fix this with a few select firings and unequivocal guidance that values come first. But no one expects that of him, and there is no excuse why the generals have not done it themselves. They could demand competence. They could demand moral courage. They could resign rather than play along with misguided politics. But they have chosen their stars and positions and perks instead. It’s a disgrace, and our troops and little Afghan kids are paying the price.
Too many of the generals who run the Pentagon are politicians, not warriors. The Pentagon is a place that should be run EXCLUSIVELY by warriors, such a Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland, (a now discharged Green Beret.)

The Actors on ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Exemplify Everything That’s Wrong With Liberalism.

From Kurt Schlichter via H/T at Instapundit:
Liberals don’t – in fact, they actively reject the notion because to accept it would require a complete rethink of their assumptions and premises. A couple of years ago, I got into a lengthy Twitter spat with Talking Points Memo editor Josh Marshall, who proudly identified himself as not of the gun-owning “tribe.” By this he meant that he did not feel the need to own weapons or to perform the most fundamental task of an American adult – to defend his family, community, and Constitution with his life – because some unidentified others would appear and do so for him.

He went on to mock the notion that society could ever collapse, which I found amusing. As one of those others who magically appeared to save the rear ends of hipster-bearded betas like Josh, I spent three weeks in the burning chaos of Los Angeles with the Army suppressing the 1992 riots. Don’t tell me things can’t go super bad super quickly.
The ugly grunt work is for unwashed masses to perform. The problem for these libs, what happens when there are not unwashed masses anymore?

Five Serious Truths About Illegal Immigration That GOP Candidates Have To Accept

From Kurt Schlichter:
So, GOP candidates, let’s start with five basic winning principles regarding immigration – principles the Democrats expressly reject and which many of you impliedly deny.

Number One: We Americans have an absolute right to decide who does and doesn’t come into our country and the conditions under which they may do so.

Number Two: If you commit a crime, you get tossed out.

Number Three: Build a real wall, across the whole damn border, and guard it.

Number Four: Send illegals home by enforcing hiring practices through civil law.

Number Five: No pathway to citizenship. Ever.

The GOP Establishment Will Learn the Wrong Lessons from Donald Trump

From Kurt Schlichter at Townhall:
Let's be absolutely clear – Donald Trump is entirely the fault of a GOP establishment that lied to conservatives and refused to do what it promised it would do. Trump is no secret Machiavellian genius cunningly outmaneuvering his enemies from his super-classy Atlantic City volcano lair. He's a finger-to-the-wind charlatan who will say whatever he needs to say to maximize his own personal adulation. And he would still be merely a tiresome reality TV catch-phrase generator if the GOP establishment had not treated the rest of us like dirt.

Donald Trump will be beaten, but it sure as hell is not going to be the establishment that does it. Instead, it is hard-core conservatives like me and you who are getting out there and making the case that serious conservative renewal requires actual serious conservative candidates. You know, ones who never voted for Obama or gave money to Hillary – conservatives who were conservative before conservatism was cool.
.......................

Yeah, there really is a GOP establishment, a cadre of Washington insiders whose focus is solely their own power and position, and for whom conservatism is a useful mask to cover up the avaricious hunger for personal power that is their sole true motivation. But you are not part of the GOP establishment just because you oppose a guy whose focus is solely his own power and position, and for whom conservatism is a useful mask to cover up the avaricious hunger for personal power that is his sole true motivation when that guy’s name is Donald Trump.

Now, there are some people out there who will never, ever vote Republican – I know because they told me they won’t – and we need to just ignore them. They're not worth the time since we will never win them over. But there are a lot of other people who are inspired by Trump’s willingness to say things the GOP elite doesn't want said. The GOP elite, for example, expected us to keep our mouths shut about the rape and murder rampages of illegal aliens and quietly bury our children while they divvied up Chamber of Commerce donations. Nope.
One of Donald's skills is that he is the ultimate publicity whore and a great salesman. Plain and simple. He knows what people want and how to sell it to them.
