Guzzlers prevailed Thursday as New York's highest court refused to reinstate New York City's ban on the sale of big sodas, ruling that the city's health department overstepped its bounds when approved the 16-ounce cap on sugary beverages.Well, there is at least some sanity in NY.

Lying About School Shootings
From Charles C. W. Cooke at National Review:
These people have no shame or honor.
The Post is admirably clear that the map includes both colleges and schools, that it counts “any instance in which a firearm was discharged within a school building or on school grounds,” and that the data isn’t “limited to mass shootings like Newtown.” This point has also been made forcefully by Charles C. Johnson, who yesterday looked into each of the 74 incidents and noted that not only did some of them not take place on campuses but that “fewer than 7 of the 74 school shootings listed by #Everytown are mass shootings,” that one or more probably didn’t happen at all, that at least one was actually a case of self-defense, and that 32 could be classified as “school shootings” only if we are to twist the meaning of the term beyond all recognition. So the Gun Control group is openly admitting it is exaggerating the numbers of "school shootings" to make a point and the willing members of the Drive-By-Media repeated the misinformation to make it part of conventional wisdom.
And that, of course, is precisely what the map’s creator is doing. The point here is not to tell the truth, but to get out the “74 school shootings since Newtown” figure and to turn it into conventional wisdom before anybody can check if it’s actually correct.
These people have no shame or honor.

Dad declared “unfit parent” by court-appointed psychiatrist for not taking his kid to McDonalds…in NYC
Yje Irony is so rich in this case.
From HotAir.com:
From HotAir.com:
Attorney David Schorr slapped a court-appointed shrink with a defamation lawsuit for telling the judge deciding a custody battle with his estranged wife that he was an unfit parent — for refusing to take his son to the fast food joint for dinner. And I thought this nutty stuff only happens in California
“You’d think it was sexual molestation,” Schorr, 43, told The Post Thursday. “I am just floored by it.”
Schorr says in his Manhattan Supreme Court suit that E. 97th Street psychiatrist Marilyn Schiller filed a report saying he was “wholly incapable of taking care of his son” and should be denied his weekend visitation over the greasy burger ban.
Schorr, a corporate attorney turned consultant with degrees from NYU and Oxford University, had planned to take his 4-year-old son to their usual restaurant, the Corner Café on Third Avenue, for his weekly Tuesday night visitation last week.
But the boy threw a temper tantrum and demanded McDonald’s. So he gave his son an ultimatum: dinner anywhere other than McDonald’s — or no dinner.
“The child, stubborn as a mule, chose the ‘no dinner’ option,” the disgruntled dad says in the suit.

The Colorado recall was about more than gun control
From the American Thinker Blog:
In a sprawling state like Colorado much of the law enforcement work is done not by unionized urban police departments run by politically appointed chiefs, but by elected county sheriffs. County government is pretty much the orphan child of American politics. The national and regional press rarely covers county government unless it is to denigrate elected county officials as the modern version of Buford T. Justice. Nor are county-wide races widely polled. Yet to many Americans, county government represents the government they are mostly likely to encounter every day -- and sheriffs are respected. The arrogance of the State Senate President lead to his own downfall BY IGNORING HIS CONSTITUENTS.
After Newtown the Democrat leadership in the Colorado legislature pretty much declared "We don't need no stinkin' sheriff's input on gun control legislation." The law was passed with little or no direct input from local law enforcement professionals as opposed to gun control activists and appointed bureaucrats. And why not? The pundits were for it. The media coverage was positive. The activists were pouring money into the issue. Obama himself came and spoke for gun control while surrounded by (all politically appointed) police chiefs and police cadets.

Colorado Democrat defeated in recall election over gun control not taking it well
From Hotair.com
Watch the video, Giron is trying to sell the talking point of voter suppression, but not even the CNN anchorette is buying it. The anchorette is actually doing her job asking hard questions, but notice the whining loser keeps going back to the talking point.

Colorado voters strike a victory for gun rights
Two Democrat State Senators in Colorado faced a recall election yesterday for voting for gun control laws. Both were recalled!!! One of the recalled Senators was the State Senate President John Morse. There are several theories/autopsy as to the reasons why.

Remember, when the Democrat Control Senate and House Passed the Clinton Assault Weapons Ban in 1994 and the subsequent steamroller that followed in the next election cycle, Democrats were fearful of the topic of Gun Control for 20 years. It seams like the need to reminded that it NOT what the people want.
Add to the fact that gun control supporters from outside the state, Michael Bloomberg and Eli Broad sent $600,000 to defeat the recall, it was not something that locals reacted well to.

Mayor Bloomberg is the best friend of 2nd Amendment advocates
From the New York Post:
Oh, he didn’t mean to. Bloomberg has used his political clout and a significant amount of his fortune to try to chip away at the Second Amendment. He is never more self-righteous and condescending than when he talks about guns.In a strange way, he is also Obama like, totally unable to pass his agenda, while at the same time, strengthening his opponents. One has to wonder, if he didn't have a biased cheer leading media encouraging him, would he engaged in this behavior at all?
Yet at every step, he’s failed. But more than that, Bloomberg’s presence actively strengthens the NRA’s position. He’s sparked fundraising booms for politicians he disagrees with and may wound Democrats in 2014. Meanwhile, he’s pushed gun sales to record heights.
Bloomberg’s most high-profile campaign was spending $12 million to get the Senate to vote his way on expanding background checks for gun purchases. After Sen. Harry Reid was forced to pull the gun control bill, Bloomberg went ballistic. His shocking rhetoric indicated the type of attack ads he would be funding leading up to the 2014 election. “Children lost. They are going to die and the criminals won. I think that’s the only way to phrase it. This is a disgrace,” he told reporters on April 18.

Weiner and Spitzer, may explain Bloomberg and Cuomo
I just don't know what is worse, the fact that New York City may elect two disgraced and corrupt Democrats to office, since the Media essentially minimized their respective scandals at the time.
Or the fact the Republican Party is so non-existent in NYC.

Taking omega-3 fish oil supplements may increase the risk of aggressive prostate cancer by 70%
So they were wrong on salt, and now a few days later, we find out that taking fish oil may increase your chances of cancer?
Just like they were wrong on coffee, chinese food, movie popcorn, red wine, and the list goes on, and on, and on , and on.
Is fat next?

Nanny Bloomberg, can I have my salt shaker back now?
The CDC has announced that there is no health benefit from reducing salt consumption.
I wonder what else the CDC, Center for Science in the Public Interest, and Moochelle are wrong about food?

Nanny Bloomberg bans food donations to homeless shelters.
When I heard this at first, I thought is was something from The Onion, but apparently, it's true: http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/03/19/bloomberg-strikes-again-nyc-bans-food-donations-to-the-homeless/
So Nanny Bloomy is worried that food donations to homeless shelters should be banned because city can’t assess their salt, fat and fiber content.
Huh?
So the Billionaire Mayor would rather people go hungry than possibly eat food that MAY have too much salt or fat, or NOT enough fiber?!?!?!
So one has to ask, how and where are these shelters going to find Bloomy approved food? 21? Elaine's? of just the thrown out/leftover food from Gracie mansion?
