CNN’s Tapper Calls Out Clinton For Email Lies -- You’re Not Entitled ‘To Your Own Facts’

From The Daily Caller:
CNN’s Jake Tapper called out Hillary Clinton for lying about emailing classified information, insisting, “You’re entitled to your own opinions, not to your own facts.”

In a video made by CNN and FactCheck.org, Tapper destroyed Clinton’s recent claim on “Fox News Sunday” that FBI Director James Comey’s testified that her statements about her private email server were true.

Tapper said, “No. That is not true. According to her campaign aides, what Hillary Clinton was referring to was Director Comey testifying, ‘We have no basis to conclude she lied to the FBI.’ But Clinton’s comments to the FBI are different from what Chris Wallace was asking about, which were Clinton’s comments to the American people.”

Then Tapper replayed Comey’s congressional hearing testimony with Rep. Trey Gowdy, where the FBI director repeatedly debunked many of Clinton’s claims.
It must be a blue moon, since someone in the Drive-By Media is actually doing their job.

He concluded with,
“A reminder to all you politicians out there, you’re perfectly entitled to your own opinions, not to your own facts,” Tapper said.

Clinton busted for lying about lying

From Breitbart Video:
During a report on Monday’s broadcast of “The Lead,” CNN Senior Washington Correspondent Jeff Zeleny stated that Democratic presidential candidate former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s claim that the FBI backed up her answers about her emails wasn’t true, and that the agency’s Director James Comey testified “that many claims Clinton had made to the public were false.”

After playing a clip of Clinton maintaining during her “Fox News Sunday” interview that Comey said her answers about her email were “truthful.” Zeleny said, “That’s not exactly true. FBI Director James Comey has said there’s no evidence Clinton lied to the FBI, but he didn’t say she’d been truthful to the American people. He called her handling of classified information ‘extremely careless.’ The Washington Post fact checker gave her answer a failing grade of four Pinocchios. And during congressional hearings, Republican Chairman [Representative] Trey Gowdy (R-SC) got Comey to testify that many claims Clinton had made to the public were false.” Zeleny then played a clip of Comey testifying that Clinton’s claim that she turned over all her work-related emails to the State Department was not true, and “thousands” were not returned.
Qait, someone at CNN is admitting Hillary is a liar, who lied about lying.

The Director Of The FBI Wants Us To Believe Hillary Is A Moron

From The Federalist:
Rep. Trey Gowdy then had a few questions regarding Hillary’s reliability. Clinton said her emails either sent or received were not marked classified — was that true? No. Clinton said “I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email, there is no classified material.” Was that true? No. Clinton said she used just one device. Was that true? No. Clinton said all work-related e-mails were returned to the State Department. Was that true? No. Clinton said her lawyers read every one of the e-mails and were overly inclusive. Did her lawyers read the e-mail content individually? No.

What was the Democratic Party’s answer to all of this: Sure, Hillary’s attorneys tried to scrub devices to prevent forensic recovery of thousands of emails, but why are you being such a conspiracy theorist?

Democrats have been framing the entire investigation as a GOP witch hunt, even after a secret server and a host of serious, and potentially illegal, activities had been unearthed. The “conspiracy theorist” talking point has codified within the liberal punditry. Every liberal questioner on the committee ran interference for Clinton, bringing up distractions and strawmen—including usage of private email accounts by congressmen and former secretaries of State, none of whom had been accused of transmitting state secrets through their accounts — rather than asking pertinent questions about the negligent transmission of sensitive state secrets. Instead, led by the histrionics of Elijah Cummings, Democrats acted like it was an affront to democracy to challenge the findings of the administration in the middle of a politically charged case.

Which specific question posed by Republicans in this case was out of line? It was odd, to say the least, that the FBI obliterated Hillary’s fiction in such public way, but then refused to recommend prosecution. Comey might be well-respected, but that doesn’t make him (or the FBI) immune from the political pressures of this election. And just because Republicans had nice things to say about him in the past shouldn’t impede them from grilling him now. Because the idea that Hillary Clinton didn’t have any intent to circumvent the law is as implausible as the idea that she was being honest after her system was discovered. The only way to believe that would be to believe Clinton has an IQ of about 50. And no reasonable person does.
Simple answer, Comey didn't want himself or a family member to die under mysterious circumstances, like many opponents of the Clintons.

Hillary Clinton -- Sandy Berger in Drag

From The American Thinker Blog:
Director Comey did some parsing of his own, rewriting the statutes Hillary clearly violated, making a distinction without a difference between the “extreme carelessness” of Hillary Clinton, which he said was not prosecutable, to the “gross negligence” of Gen. David Petraeus, who was punished as the relevant statute clearly requires.

Gen. David Petraeus was prosecuted and convicted of merely mishandling classified material, having it in his house to aid a biographer writing a book. The material never made the book and was returned. It was never exposed to hackers, which Comey confirmed, or was made available to blackmail a future president. Hillary exposed classified material to foreign hackers and governments on an unsecured server. As Investor’s Business Daily observed:
Scandal: Which is worse -- keeping classified information in a personal journal at home or doing government business and transmitting classified data on a private email account managed from the Clinton family home?

This adds a new level of premeditated secrecy and deceit to the actions of the presumptive 2016 Democratic presidential nominee.

It also adds a new level of hypocrisy to the most transparent administration in history’s pursuit of former CIA Director and commander of American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, Gen. David Petraeus.
What Hillary did and got away with, the mishandling of classified material to intentionally avoid political embarrassment occurred at least once before, at the hands of notorious Clinton crony Sandy Berger, who put classified information in another type of drawers – his own -- to help the Clintons dodge the truth and the responsibility for their actions.

A report released in 2006 by National Archives inspector general Paul Brachfield on Wednesday that concluded Berger in 2004 “knowingly removed classified documents from the National Archives and Records Administration and stored and retained such documents at places,” including temporarily under a construction trailer outside the main Archives building.

This seems to blatantly contradict the feeble mea culpa Berger issued when in the summer of 2004 he was caught stuffing and removing said documents in his clothing, documents that directly contradicted his testimony before the 9/11 Commission.

Back then Berger said, “I made an honest mistake,” a mistake which included, according to his plea bargain which netted him no jail time and a meager fine, taking five classified documents, using a scissors on three of them, then lying to the National Archives when asked about them.
Wow, the similarity of excuses by one of the Clinton Cabal, which was eerily similar to the excuses given by Comey.

James Comey gave GOP plenty of material against Clinton, now they need to use it properly.

From The Washington Examiner via H/T at Instapundit:
Yep!
Hillary Clinton might not be indicted for her mishandling of classified information using her private email server, but FBI Director James Comey has certainly given the GOP enough material to use against her in the general election.

That is, if they use it properly.

Comey handed the Republican Party multiple TV ads between his statement Tuesday and his congressional testimony on Thursday. All the GOP needs to do is make a short ad with all the various ways Comey called Clinton incompetent.

“Extremely careless.”

“Real sloppiness.”

“Not sophisticated.”

Comey all but said Clinton was so incompetent — even after decades in public life — that she put state secrets at risk. It’s an easy ad to make.
So where is it?
Yeah Donald, where is it?

Comey’s game

From Thomas Lifson at The American Thinker Blog:
I think it is possible that Comey was grudgingly complying with the reality that he learned in the wake of the covert meeting between Bill Clinton and A.G. Lynch (that became public only because a Phoenix TV station was doing a story on VIP arrivals at Sky Harbor Airport). I suspect that he learned, directly or indirectly, that no case would be brought against Hillary Clinton. As Karin McQuillan noted today, he provided a “tell” when he said:
We … engage in productive conversations with prosecutors about what resolution may be appropriate.
This would leave him with a decision to respond the hard way or the easy way.  I have no idea what the hard way would involve, whether it involved losing positive inducements to cooperate and be a good team member or whether something decidedly unpleasant might happen to him or his loved ones, as has happened to so many people inconvenient to the Clintons, by sheer coincidence, of course. The easy way would be no recommendation for prosecution, allowing A.G. Lynch to keep her promise to follow whatever the FBI recommended. That would call off the dogs.

So did Director Comey cooperate the way American prisoners of war did, when forced to read statements praising their captors, by in effect blinking Morse code? He gave exactly what he was supposed to. But he did it in a way calculated to do political damage to Hillary Clinton.

Then there is the small matter of the ongoing investigation into the Clinton Foundation, and potential quid-pro-quo corruption lining the actions of the secretary of state to donations to the foundation.  Comey let us know that quite a few deleted emails were recovered from Hillary’s servers but said absolutely nothing about the other investigation.
One can only hope for something.

Meet The Man James Comey Indicted Over A 21-Word Email

From The Daily Caller:
In April, 2003, investment banker Frank Quattrone was indicted on charges of obstruction of justice by then-U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York James Comey for one email sent to employees.

Quattrone voiced his discontent with Comey’s recent announcement regarding Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s personal email server. Comey is now the director of the FBI.

..............................

The email that got Quattrone in trouble was “having been a key witness in a securities litigation case in south Texas, I strongly advise you to follow these procedures.”
Law, like taxes are for the little people.

FBI Director Comey Obliterated These Hillary Talking Points

From The Daily Caller:
While FBI Director James Comey announced in a surprise press conference on Tuesday that he will recommend that charges not be filed against Hillary Clinton and her aides for mishandling classified information, the Obama appointee torched talking points that the former secretary of state has used in defense of her email practices.

Clinton has in the past said that her emails were not classified when they were sent and received. Her campaign has also questioned the integrity of the Intelligence Community’s inspector general, which assessed last year that some of Clinton’s emails were classified at the “Top Secret” level when they were originated.

But Comey settled the question in decisive fashion on Tuesday, demolishing Clinton’s claims.
Wow, Comey just confirmed Hillary is a liar! Stop the presses!

Comey’s FBI makes waves

From The Hill via H/T at Instapundit:
The aggressive posture of the FBI under Director James Comey is becoming a political problem for the White House.

The FBI’s demand that Apple help unlock an iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino killers has outraged Silicon Valley, a significant source of political support for President Obama and Democrats.

Comey, meanwhile, has stirred tensions by linking rising violent crime rates to the Black Lives Matter movement’s focus on police violence and by warning about “gaps” in the screening process for Syrian refugees.

Then there’s the biggest issue of all: the FBI’s investigation into the private email server used by Hillary Clinton, Obama’s former secretary of State and the leading contender to win the Democratic presidential nomination.

A decision by the FBI to charge Clinton or her top aides for mishandling classified information would be a shock to the political system.

In these cases and more, Comey — a Republican who donated in 2012 to Mitt Romney — has proved he is “not attached to the strings of the White House,” said Ron Hosko, the former head of the FBI’s criminal investigative division and a critic of Obama’s law enforcement strategies.

Publicly, administration officials have not betrayed any worry about the Clinton probe. They have also downplayed any differences of opinion on Apple.

But former officials say the FBI’s moves are clearly ruffling feathers within the administration.
Good!
It's nice to see a federal law enforcement officer ACTUALLY enforcing the law.
