Voter Asks Hillary Clinton if Juanita Broaderick Should Be Believed, If All Women Are to Be Believed About Rape

From The Washington Free Beacon via H/T at Ace of Spades HQ:
Well.
“You recently came out to say that all rape victims should be believed? But would you say that about Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey, and Paula Jones? Should we believe them as well?” the audience member asked.

“Well, I would say that everybody should be believed at first until they are disbelieved based on evidence,” Clinton said, drawing applause.
She then grins and nods, her witch's cackle half-suppressed.

Heilemann - If A GOPer Had Written Bernie Sanders’ Rape Tale, It Would Be A ‘Huge Scandal’

From the Daily Caller:
After the unearthing of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ rape-based essay, Bloomberg’s John Heilemann argued Friday that Sanders needs to answer questions on the piece, adding it would be a “huge scandal” if a Republican wrote it.
Is there any doubt?

So which side is waging a war on women again?

SHOCKING PROOF -- UCLA Grossly Discriminates In Favor Of Male Porn Stars

From the Daily Caller:
The University of California, Los Angeles paid porn stars James Deen and Tasha Reign a total of $2,250 for a March 4 on-campus workshop offering “an inside look into the adult film industry from the stars themselves.”

UCLA did not pay the two porn thespians equally for appearing on exactly the same panel, as documents obtained by The College Fix through a California Public Records Act request show.

Deen received an honorarium of $1,500 for the panel, the records show. Reign received an honorarium of $750.

Thus, Reign earned just 50 cents for every $1 Deen made for exactly the same work.

"Affirmative Consent" -- The Sex Police on the Defensive

From Cathy Young at Real Clear Politics via Instapundit:
While the bill has been criticized across the political spectrum as an intrusive and bizarre attempt to micromanage sexuality, its defenders are mobilizing as well. They claim that “affirmative consent” is meant simply to ensure that all sex is wanted sex and that its critics are either rape-loving misogynists or misguided folks confused about what this standard actually means.

So, how convincing are those defenses?

A rather strongly worded diatribe against “rape apologists”—and, specifically, yours truly—comes from firebrand feminist blogger Amanda Marcotte on RawStory.com. According to Marcotte, I am a “professional female misogynist” who thinks that women “exist in a state of consent all the time” unless they explicitly say “no.” Of course, what I actually wrote was that consent is usually given through nonverbal cues—often, especially in first-time sex, in a gradual buildup of physical contact.
The California Legislature, whose combines IQ points might reach double digits, ironically, is trying to legislates what goes on in the bedroom, after spending decades castigating Republicans for doing the same thing. Especially when it comes to abortion and gay marriage. This is part of the Democrats current election cycle "cause de' jour."

White House’s phony wage gap figures spur a backlash

From Jennifer Rubin at the Washington Compost:
“I’m betting the White House staffer who thought up the equal pay initiative is getting some fairly icy looks and snippy calls from Democrats. This has to be the worst idea since a staffer sent Air Force One’s backup plane to fly low over Manhattan. But at least the jet didn’t cause grief to fellow Democrats around the country. Day 2 of the president’s equal pay calamity continued today.”

Plus: (using the method the White House does)

Mark Udall pays women 85 cents for every dollar that a man makes.

Mary Landrieu pays women 88 cents for every dollar that a man makes.

Mark Begich pays women 82 cents for every dollar that a man makes.

Mark Warner pays women 75 cents for every dollar that a man makes.

Gary Peters pays women 67 cents for every dollar that a man makes.

That means on average, these five Democrats on the ballot in battleground states pay women in their office 79 cents for every dollar made by a male employee.
So how does the White House compare: 88 cents to the dollar that men make.

White House Says Wage Gender Gap Stats Are Misleading...When Applied to the White House

From Reason via Instapundit:
Carney protested that this was misleading, because women and men holding similar positions at the White House are paid equivalent salaries. Because women outnumber men at the lowest levels of the employee chain, however, the average female salary at the White House is lower.

Carney is right: It is misleading to average the salaries of men and women in widely varying positions and then use this as evidence that women are being discriminated against. That women disproportionately make up lower-paid positions may point to some broad, systematic gender bias, past or present, but it doesn't equal outright sexist behavior on an employer's part.

It's good that Carney acknowledges this as far as the White House is concerned, because the Obama administration and many others are quick to gloss over nuance like this when talking about the wage gap in general. We frequently hear that American women make only 77 cents for every dollar men make, but this is based on data that fail to account for women's work histories and life choices. It aggregates the earnings of women in all positions and compares this average against the earnings of all men.
Live by a phony Statistic, die by a phony statistic.

False Accusations in a military sexual assault case

From the New York Times via Instapundit:
Chief Serbia testified that he asked her, “Were you raped?” and she replied, “No.”

Text messages and journal entries suggest the affair was loving, passionate and consensual, the defense asserts. One of her diary entries read, “My biggest fear is that there is still something there in his marriage.” In another entry, the captain wrote, “I’m so in love with him and the idea of always being with him that I forget about large factors that would prevent that.”
Meanwhile, there’s reason to suspect that the military was more interested in producing a scalp as evidence that it was taking sexual assault seriously than in doing justice. Christina Hoff Sommers is comparing this to the Duke Lacrosse false-rape case.
I wonder if the Regime's False War on Women's meme has anything to do with this?

Breeders -- How Gay Men Destroyed the Left

From the American Thinker:
Many of my allies who are opposed to surrogacy do not want to cast this as a gay male issue. They are right, since heterosexuals began the practice to alleviate the suffering of wealthy, infertile heterosexual women. Planned Parenthood does not seem eager to oppose surrogacy as exploitation of women, largely because it is career-oriented “liberated” women who often need to turn to surrogacy contracts, having aborted too many times in their twenties and then postponed childbearing to focus on their professional ascendancy. Once the glass ceilings are shattered, feminists will be quite hesitant to bad-mouth the trail-blazing pro-choice success stories who now decide they want to be moms at age forty-five and keep their equally privileged husbands happy.
Read the whole article, it's some food for thought.

Obama Misspells ‘Respect’ While Honoring Aretha Franklin, CNN Covers for Him

From National Review via Ace of Spades HQ:
President Obama spoke to a very receptive audience at the event “In Performance at the White House — Women of Soul” on Thursday night, but misspelled “respect” while honoring Aretha Franklin.

“When Aretha first told us what R-S-P-E-C-T meant to her,” Obama said to the general laughter of the audience, “she had no idea it would become a rallying cry for African-Americans and women and then everyone who felt marginalized because of what they look like and who they love.”

CNN was quick to cover for Obama’s misspelling. Ashley Banfield said Obama just “wanted to throw us all, see if we were actually all paying attention.”

Just like he was checking if we knew whether there was 57 States or not.
Berman asked if people would “be making a bigger deal out of this than we are,” if it were, say, Dan Quayle who misspelled a word. “Is this liberal media bias?” he said. Maybe. Imagine if Bush couldn’t spelled “respect” correctly at a “Women of Soul” event . . .
Wasn't Dan Quayle making sure "we were actually all paying attention" when he spelled "P-O-T-A-T-O-E"?

Oops, I forgot, Obama is one of the smartest men in the world.

Democrat who beat up woman for refusing sex still serving in legislature… behind bars

From the Daily Caller:
A Massachusetts Democratic state lawmaker who is serving time in prison for beating a woman when she refused to have sex with him continues to serve in the state legislature.

State Representative Carlos Henriquez of Dorchester was sentenced to six months in prison on January 15 after a jury convicted him of beating a woman he had been dating after she would not have sex with him.

Despite a chorus of calls for him to step down — including from Democrats like Gov. Deval Patrick and House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo — and threats of expulsion, Henriquez has refused to abandon his position.
Would PMS-NBC not make this story the headline story of every show if the guy sitting in jail was a white Republican? or does he get a pass because he's black? of just a Democrat?
