CNN’s Jake Tapper joined conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Wednesday to talk about how the media’s covered “BridgeGate” versus Benghazi. When asked by Hewitt, Tapper said, “Are they getting the same degree of scrutiny? No, of course not.”Christie has a almost 2 hour long press conference about bridgegate. Has Hillary answered any real questions yet on Benghazi?
That being said, Tapper acknowledged there are “complicated reasons” for that disparity and admitted, “I don’t know that Benghazi got less coverage in aggregate than BridgeGate,” citing his own reporting on Benghazi in the ensuing months. Tapper contrasted the way Chris Christie handled BridgeGate, with a two-hour press conference to get everything out there, with Hillary Clinton being more cagey, saying at the time she “was on her way out” and she hasn’t really done that many interviews in the intervening time.
