No ammo anywhere -- even in a Free State

So I'm in the middle of a trip out of state to visit some friends (escaping Kalifornia). We stopped by the large store (over 300,000 sq ft each) of both Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop. (These stores are the basis for the TV show, "Last Man Standing" starring Tim Allen.)

Needless to say, the nationwide shortage of ammo was painfully evident at both of these stores. At Bass Pro Shop, the ammo aisles looked like a Russian Grocery store from the 70's. Unfortunately, Cabela's was not much better. There was no .22LR at either location. .45ACP ammo was very limited, and .223 Rem/5.56 NATO was very expensive (over $0.65/rd, some over $1.00/rd)


P.S. -- We dropped by again on the 5th, so I could get some of the Hornady 5.56 NATO TAP ammo. Yes, it was expensive at over $1/rd, but I figured it wasn't gonna get any cheaper anytime soon. But, it was sold out. They did have some relatively inexpensive .223 Rem ammo at $0.45/rd, but you were limited to a max of 5 boxes.
