The City of Chicago is being fiscally devoured by pension obligations run up by politicians buying votes. Even with a record $543 million property tax increase, the city’s $20 billion debt to its pension funds will continue to grow for at least a decade. Pension costs overwhelm the city’s ability to deliver any actual services, and the tax increases necessary to pay for both services and pensions predictably could drive away businesses and residents, leaving behind another Detroit.Nice gig, if you can get it!

Wait a minute, how about Valerie Jarrett, President Obama’s Supreme Consigliere, and, many believe, the de facto President of the United States, while the nominal POTUS plays golf, watches televised sports, and stays current with the latest TV shows and rap music.
Chris Fusco and Patrick Rehkamp report in the Chicago Sun-Times:Jarrett was appointed CTA [Chicago Transit Authority] board chairman in 1995 by then-Mayor Richard M. Daley. She left the $50,000-a-year part-time post in 2003 and began collecting her $35,660-a-year pension three years later, at 50 — the minimum age at which former board members can take their pensions.
Now 59, Jarrett had collected a total of $306,080 in pension payouts as of last summer, records show. That’s more than 27 times the $11,132 that she paid toward her board pension through payroll deductions from her CTA paychecks.
Besides her CTA pension, she makes $173,922 a year in her role as Obama’s senior adviser — a job she has held since his first term in the White House in 2009.
On January 1, the Chicago Tribune reported that the number of shooting victims in gun-controlled Chicago for 2015 was 2,986.The Dear Leader blaming Wisconsin and Indiana for the gun control fail makes about as much sense as Kalifornia Gov. Jerry 'Moonbeam' Brown blaming Nevada and Arizona's gun control laws for the terrorist shooting in San Bernardino. All the gun used in the San Bernardino shooting were legally purchased in Kalifornia, after a universal background check and a 10 day waiting period.
Mind you, Chicago has a “violence tax” that raises the price of every gun and bullet sold at retail, an “assault weapons” ban, limits on the number of gun stores and the locations of those stores, and what the New York Times describes as handgun restrictions that let city leaders “get as close as they could get legally to a ban without a ban.”
The result? According to the Chicago Tribune, there has been nearly 3,000 shooting victims in one year’s time.
And the Tribune reports approximate 470 homicides for Chicago in 2015, which means gun-controlled Chicago had “the most violent year of all major U.S. cities.” It is the worst year the city has seen since 2012, “when 500 people were killed.”
On October 27, President Obama tried to blame Indiana and Wisconsin for the gun control failure in Chicago. His line of reasoning was that the pro-Second Amendment stance of Indiana and Wisconsin led to guns flooding into Chicago from out of state. Bretibart News previously reported that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) made a similar move on September 17, when he blamed southern states for New York City’s soaring rate of firearm-related homicides.
On December 22 the Chicago Tribune reported that the number of shooting victims in gun-controlled Chicago year-to-date is 2,887.Liberals always have to blame something or someone else for gun violence. Just like Jerry Brown blamed other states gun laws for the San Bernadino shooters actions. Problem Jerry, the shooters in San Bernardino legally bought their guns in California, passed California's "universal background check" and the 10 day waiting period. All the things that gun control proponents argue will reduce gun violence.
Nearly 3,000 shooting victims in a city with an “assault weapons” ban, a “violence tax” on every gun and bullet sold, strict limitations on the number of gun store and on the locations of said stores. and numerous other gun controls ubiquitously instituted to keep law-abiding citizens safer, but which actually make it far more difficult for law-abiding citizens to acquire the guns they need for self-defense.

Breitbart News previously reported that Obama refused to admit the failure of Chicago gun control during a speech in the city on October 27. Instead, he blamed the city’s growing violence on states like Indiana and Wisconsin.
As of November 23, there had been 2703 shootings which resulted in 440 deaths year-to date in heavily gun-controlled Chicago.So much for gun control.
That is an increase of approximately 400 shootings over the same time last year.
The November 2 execution-style vengeance killing of nine-year old Chicago resident Tayshawn Lee has been completely ignored by the Black Lives Matter movement. Likewise, Lee's tragic death remains unacknowledged by so-called black "leaders" like the rabble-rousing Al Sharpton or fellow Chicagoan Jesse Jackson. Even the former Chicago community organizer Barack Obama – and his pouty-faced "bring back our girls" wife Michelle – have interestingly chosen silence despite their polarizing, knee-jerk history of inserting themselves into the political discourse.The FBI reported that in 2011, there were only 327 murders by ANY rifle, but The Dear Leader and his cronies want to ban "assault weapons." Why the silence about the slaughter in Chicago?
Unlike Trayvon Martin who garnered countrywide attention and outrage regarding his unfortunate fate – a life cut short by violence – the similar-sounding Tayshawn has been relegated to a police blotter and a startling urban crime statistic: 418 murders in the Windy City this year so far.
