Special Snowflake Intern Gets Fired After Delivering a Petition to Employer For a Less Strict Dress Code

This is what happens when a university snowflake encounters the corporate world.

Now as foolish as the girl was this is really a failure of her educators and parents. She was only repeating what she had been trained to do and rewarded for all during her snowflake education. She truly did not see that she had no standing to complain and that her narcissistic activism would be disapproved of so strongly. And from her letter in the article it doesn't appear that she has learned very much from the experience either.

But of course young people have always been a bit self-focused and prone to do all the stupid, foolish things that young people are wont to do though the exact menu of which stupid, idiotic things are chosen from varies from generation to generation. So I'm not surprised that there was a person like the letter-writer making a fuss over the dress code the way she did. Usually people like this just get severely embarrassed or let go and all the other newbies have a smirk at their foolishness and also learn a lesson from the example.

But what stands out here to me is that all but one of the interns signed the petition. Which means that all the signers ran the petition-signing scenario through their future-world consequence prediction machine and decided that yes - this will work out great! This common high level of unfounded self-esteem mixed with a complete unfamiliarity with how the real world actually works may be a unique trait of young millennials that is over and beyond all the traditional youthful stupidities. Real life smacks college life squarely in the face with predictable results.

However, the biggest dis-service college does not is NOT prepare the special snowflakes for real life. Most of the schools charge over $40,000 in tuition a year to attend. Add in housing and books, one if looking at a 1/4 of a million dollar investment for 4 years of liberal indoctrination.

Rolling Stone rape hoaxer doesn’t want to answer questions anymore.

The woman known as Jackie who shocked the world with her lurid tale of being gang-raped at a University of Virginia fraternity party doesn’t want to answer any more questions as part of a lawsuit.

Filed by U.Va.’s associate dean of students, Nicole Eramo, the lawsuit alleges Rolling Stone Magazine, which published the false rape story, defamed her when it accused her of being cruel to sexual assault accusers. In late January, a judge ordered Jackie to turn over any and all communications between her and Eramo, as well as between her and the author of the article, Sabrina Rubin Erdely, that related to her accusation.

A judge has given Eramo’s attorneys seven hours to depose Jackie, but because of the sheer volume of communications between her and Erdely, and the fact that Eramo would have to share the time with Rolling Stone’s attorneys, the U.Va. dean is asking for another three hours. Naturally, Jackie and her attorney don’t want to talk anymore, and Jackie especially doesn’t want to talk about her rape claims. . . . The same Jackie who told an untrue story to the media now wants the media to leave her alone.

Yeah, well, too bad sister. Nobody needs to deal tenderly with your trauma, since you made the whole thing up. You should be facing jail time.

Absolutely!

If these women would face the same amount of jail time as the falsely accused faced, the number of false accusations would drop to zero!

Expel People Who Demand Trigger Warnings

If you need trigger warnings in order to learn, then the only warning anyone should hear is a warning against letting you in the classroom.

Let’s get back to Myers’ “just let the poor traumatized kids get the degrees they paid for” argument. No, don’t let them get those degrees. The whole point of those degrees is to signify their bearers possess qualities beyond merely the credit rating to take out vast amounts of student loans. The entire reason college degrees are supposed to be valuable is that they signify a capacity to absorb and process specialized knowledge beyond what non-degree-holders have. This is, in fact, the whole purpose of education generally.

This means if some troubled or weak students have allowed their mental illness to preclude them from absorbing such knowledge, the fault lies not with the college, but with them. Such people are as ineducable as an illiterate English major. The solution is not to expel knowledge from the classroom that is disagreeable to these feeble and fragile minds. It is to expel them. Their place is in a psych ward, not a school, and their money (or, more likely, their parents’) is better spent seeking treatment there than spoiling education for everyone else.

I am not exaggerating when I say that the stigma attached to mental illness exists at least partially because “sufferers” exhibit these sorts of cognitive glass jaws. Why should you be willing to spend time around someone prone to breaking down and blaming you at any moment, let alone take responsibility for them as an employer, supervisor, or especially the sort of educator-cum-substitute-parent that many college administrations try to be? In our lawsuit-happy culture, there is no reason for any rational being to want anyone who is mentally ill nearby if their most visible “advocates” are so fragile they want to see a Shakespeare play labeled like a pack of cigarettes. . . .

It’s not fair to the colleges or to them to expect them to hack it any more than it’s fair to expect someone with easily broken bones to become a body builder. Either the college will have to dumb its educational mission down to the point of meaninglessness, or the extremely damaged will have to put themselves at risk of interminable mental agony. The first option destroys learning; the second destroys people. Better to keep the people incapable of learning away from it.

It seems to me, if these women are so fragile that an uncomfortable thought can shatter their psyche, they are obviously too emotionally immature for college.
