DECEPTIVE CONCEPTION: When I got pregnant, my boyfriend thought it was an accident. It wasn’t.

Tracy Quan wrote about this in the late '90's for Salon magazine:

A public service ad aimed at young women features a manipulative teenage boy pressuring his girlfriend to prove her love by having risky sex, but there are no Planned Parenthood posters warning young males about girls who say they’re on the Pill when they’re not.

These days, when a man blames a woman for getting pregnant, he is likely to be dismissed as a Deadbeat Dad. There’s some reason for this: Prominent among the men who accuse women of “tricking” them into fatherhood are athletes and other celebrities who ignore their own kids while seeking to discredit the mothers who raise them.

But public health ads and tawdry headlines don’t always capture the emotional nuances, the many things left unsaid, in people’s relationships. These familiar stereotypes of low-life Lotharios and scheming gold-diggers don’t always explain how males can become fathers accidentally by design — woman’s design.

If men did this to women, it would be considered a species of rape. But, of course, the women could still get an abortion. Another except from Tracy Quan:

Suppose Bill was in charge of birth control, and he informed his girlfriend that he had stopped using contraception some time ago, was coy about the exact date and chose to break the news to her in bed after a successful frolic. Lucy would feel violated; most women would regard him as a man so predatory as to be unfit for fatherhood. Bill’s pushy bid for a commitment would look downright pathological.

The fact is that despite our egalitarian efforts to turn reproduction into a rational process, men and women don’t always hold each other to the same standards. Women, at times, can get away with behavior that we wouldn’t tolerate from men — and many of us exploit the inequalities that are said to work against us. As the anti-suffragette feminist Emma Goldman said in a discussion about “woman’s inhumanity to man,” “woman is naturally perverse.” Women can be presumptuous about deciding how and when to breed, and some women would argue that what we do with our wombs is nobody’s business but our own. A woman I know was told by her mother that “men are never ready for babies,” and that consulting the prospective father of her child was therefore pointless.

Female rationalization, and if what you do with your wombs is no business but your own, then the notion of “child support” should be equally one-sided.

Psychology Today:   Some accidental pregnancies aren’t so accidental—especially if the guy could be a good provider.

Some of the women admitted that they had not used birth control with guys who had appealing characteristics. To determine whether such behavior is widespread, Spohn surveyed nearly 400 women at two community colleges. More than a third of women said they had risked pregnancy in the past with men who had attractive qualities — such as commitment to the relationship, good financial prospects or the desire for a family—but hadn't discussed the possibility of pregnancy with their partner.

Because of women like this (via Ann Althouse), DNA testing should become mandatory. Because, it's for the children !!!!

I assumed that after 30, women stopped going after musicians, bikers, criminals, and thugs. Silly me for thinking the best of American women. 

Michael Hidgon writes about another screwy, biased against males, example of the twisted laws regarding paternity and child support:

Nathaniel was a California teenager who became a father in 1995. The mother of Nathaniel’s child was named Ricci, and at the time of conception, she was thirty-four years old. Nathaniel, however, was merely fifteen. Although Nathaniel admitted to having sex with Ricci voluntarily about five times, the fact that he was under sixteen years of age at the time made it legally impossible for him to consent to sexual intercourse. In other words, under California law, Nathaniel was not only a new father, but was also a victim of statutory rape. Nonetheless, in a subsequent action for child support, the court held that Nathaniel was liable for the support of the child who was born as a result of his rape. According to the court, "Victims have rights. Here, the victim also has responsibilities.

The problem with the court’s current approach, however, is that the standard is so strict that even those men who never consented to the sexual act that caused the pregnancy are nonetheless liable for the support of the resulting child. These men include males who became fathers as a result of statutory rape and also adult males who became fathers either as a result of sexual assault or having their sperm stolen and used by a woman for purposes of self-insemination. In all such cases, these "fathers" have been held liable for child support.

Imagine the response by the feminist groups if the genders were changed.
