Huma Abedin -- Hillary Clinton Did Not Want ‘Private’ Emails Accessible to ‘Anybody’

From Breitbart's Big Government:
Longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin said in a legal proceeding that Clinton did not want the private emails that she mixed in with State Department emails on her private computer server to be accessible to “anybody,” according to transcripts released Wednesday.

Abedin’s comments provided new insight into the highly unusual decision by the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate to operate a private email server in her basement to conduct government business when she served as secretary of state.
Is this a smoking gun?

Some Clinton Employees Thought Huma’s Work Ethic Drove Weiner Into 2011 Sexting Scandal

From The Washington Free Beacon via H/T at Ace of Spades HQ:
Vanity Fair reports that some State Department officials suspected that it was the very close relationship between Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton that forced poor neglected Anthony Weiner into his 2011 sexting scandal.
Is this an attempt to blame Hillary for Weiner's issues?

State Department Likely Erased And Then Destroyed Hillary Aides’ Blackberrys

From The Daily Caller:
The State Department likely issued Blackberrys to two Hillary Clinton aides and later destroyed them, the agency said in a court filing on Wednesday.

Clinton’s former chief of staff, Cheryl Mills, and her deputy chief of staff, Huma Abedin, were given the government-issued devices, a government attorney, Joseph E. Macmanus told U.S. District Court judge Emmet Sullivan.
Destroying evidence.  What a surprise?

Will Huma Fall on Her Sword for Hillary?

From Roger Simon at PJ Media:
They say it’s not the crime, but the coverup. But sometimes it’s the crime and the coverup. Hillary Clinton’s metastasizing email scandal is beginning to look more and more like a case of both.

Back in the seventies, Charles Colson of Watergate fame boasted he would “walk over my own grandmother” to assure the election of Richard Nixon. Hillary Clinton — who cut her teeth on the very Watergate investigation before she was “let go” by the House Judiciary Committee under disputed circumstances — now may have to demand the same kind of loyalty from longtime “girl Friday” Huma Abedin.
............................

The question remains, however, what will Huma say or do when interrogated.  Her legal troubles are not just limited to protecting Hillary, as this article at National Review indicates. She is being investigated for improprieties, again multiple, surrounding her work for Teneo Holdings.  Will she think of herself first?  What will her attorneys advise her to do?  At least one of them, Karen Dunn, works with and for David Boies, whose involvement at the highest reaches of government goes back to being Al Gore’s lawyer in Bush v. Gore.  As will be recalled, he lost that one.  Will they be on the side of their client or Mrs. Clinton?  Time will tell.

Or maybe it won’t, because increasing numbers of Democratic leaders are trying to figure out ways to usher Hillary offstage before its too late for their party in 2016. I wouldn’t be surprised if a quiet compromise is worked out, a sudden illness discovered, as Joe Biden is rushed in, riding on a whitish horse while Huma disappears mysteriously from the scene.
The Clintons have a history of finding (recruiting?) fall guys; who were willing to go to jail, flee the country, or commit suicide; to protect them on the climb from the Governor's Mansion in Arkansas to the White House. But will those loyalties extend to Hillary?

Will Huma Abedin Survive the Clinton Scandal Vortex?

From National Review:
It was probably inevitable that the woman always at Hillary Clinton’s side would one day be sucked into the vortex of suspicion and scandal surrounding the Democratic presidential frontrunner. For top Clinton aide Huma Abedin, that day seems to have arrived.

Though rumors of impropriety have swirled around Abedin for over two years, in the past two weeks they’ve snowballed into concrete allegations. Last week, the State Department inspector general claimed that the trusted Clinton confidant owes the government nearly $10,000 for violating rules regarding vacation and sick leave. And in court on Monday, Hillary Clinton admitted Abedin had an e-mail account on the now-infamous private server run out of Clinton’s house while she was secretary of state, and that the account “was used at times for government business.” State Department investigators say they’ve now expanded a probe into Clinton’s use of private e-mail to include “top aides,” meaning Abedin is almost certainly under federal investigation for the possible exchange of unsecured, classified data.

Despite a glacial government response time, multiple investigations into Abedin’s simultaneous employment at the State Department and a consulting firm tied to the Clintons are also approaching their peak. Senator Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa), chairman of the Judiciary Committee, has already accused Abedin of leveraging her dual public and private roles to “deliver favors” for key Clinton Foundation donors.
The real question is, will Abedin fall on a sword to protect her boss?
