Treason: In his State of the Union speech, the president bragged: If you doubt my commitment to punishing terrorists, "just ask Osama bin Laden." So why is he releasing several of bin Laden's bodyguards from Guantanamo?hummm, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, does it?
'It may take time, but we have long memories, and our reach has no limits," President Obama said.
But when it comes to the terrorists incarcerated at Gitmo, Obama has a short memory, forgetting their role before and after 9/11. And his "reach" amounts to opening their prison cells.
On Thursday, just two days after Obama talked about how tough he is on terrorists, he authorized the release of 10% of the remaining Gitmo prison population. Ten al-Qaida terrorists were freed at once, despite military warnings that they'd return to the battlefield.
All 10 are from Yemen, and all are classified "high risk." Several were part of bin Laden's security detail and fought U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan.
But don't worry, the White House says, they will be in the custody and care of the Arabian nation of Oman, which has promised to keep an eye on them so they don't go back to waging jihad.
The releases were done quietly.
