Terrorism isn't scaring Americans; Obama is

Obama keeps telling us not to be afraid of terrorism.

Well, we're not falling over ourselves in fear of terrorism. But we are afraid of a terrorist-denying zealot in the Oval Office who seems to think that terrorism is merely a big distraction from his awesome domestic policy goals.

It's one measure of the detached president's willful public cluelessness about terrorism that the big news from Sunday evening's 1,970 words was his admission that last week's San Bernardino attack killing 14 was terrorism. Is there any sentient American who hadn't figured that out? The clues were as abundant as empty shell casings. And a garage pipe-bomb factory did not speak of global warming.

In fact, such Obama condescension fuels our fears, that he feels the need to share with us the obvious, belatedly, from within his towering intellect and fortified residence.

But Obama seems so dim, so unwilling and/or unable to grasp the international reality of terror beyond rhetoric that there's now more fear about his military myopia. We expect arrogance from Harvard grads. But not stupidity.

And he shouldn't think us gullible either. That's fomented strong suspicion of his motives. Let's list a few examples: The Benghazi attacks concerned a video. ISIS is JV. ISIS is contained. The Paris terrorist attack killing 130 was a "setback." The ISIS fight is going well. Pentagon investigators probe cooking of intell reports to portray success against ISIS.

He can't admit that he's an international failure.
