Oh California … you are such a nanny state sometimes. The city of San Rafael, CA, recently passed one of the most restrictive smoking bans in the whole country -- it’s now illegal to smoke in your own home if you share walls with another residence.Those of us in Kalifornia, we knew it was just a matter of time for this to happen. I always assumed the first City to do this would be either Santa Monica or San Fransisco. Now, San Rafael is in the Bay Area, so it was close.
The ban applies to all condos, townhouse, and apartments -- regardless of whether the occupants are owners or renters.
